Crystal Balfour
PsyD
My work with clients is a deeply humbling experience. Whether I’m working with a child, a teen, or their parent, I am aware that their decision to seek support communicates courage and trust. My goal is to facilitate a space where your child can be their authentic self and feel empowered to tackle life stressors.
I use an integrated approach to therapy, which means I examine multiple factors that may be impacting your child. These factors could include past experiences or important family dynamics that will help me understand your child’s
needs. I value each child’s unique history as well as cultural factors that shape their life experiences. In addition, I believe that every child and their family come with a set of strengths that can be used to assist in the healing process.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I earned my doctoral degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a specialization in the mental health treatment of children and adolescents. I’ve had comprehensive training in various developmental theories, child and adolescent psychopathology, and interventions used in treatment. For over 7 years, I have worked collaboratively with children, teens, and their families to address various challenges, such as trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. I look forward to working with you and your family.
