Emotions are a natural part of the human experience. Throughout the years, something consistently communicated by the youth I work with is: “Emotions are scary”. Experiencing emotions isn’t the scary part, more often the source of fear is the uncertainty of what to do when messy emotions surface. Questions like: What is this emotion I am experiencing? Who can I trust and with whom can I safely share my emotions? Why do my emotions seem to take over? Is there a right way to express my emotions? I use various therapeutic approaches such as: Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused, Strength Based, and Problem Solving therapies to effectively address a client’s individual treatment needs. I specialize in the treatment of Trauma, ADHD, Anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Depression, Stress Management, and other behaviors that impact daily functioning.
