Ben Walker
LCSW
One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is the time and space for healing and growth. In therapy, my goal is to help you find and nurture your authentic nature, and to honor the wisdom gained from your lived experiences. Our work will consider the various intersecting aspects of your identity and the social, professional, and other cultural contexts in which you exist. I believe that as you experience yourself holistically, on your own and with guidance, you can naturally open yourself to more opportunities for healing, connection, growth, and other meaningful change.

My approach strives to center my clients as experts in their own experiences, and to provide supportive guidance in understanding what serves them in their pursuit of change, and what does not. We will explore additional education and skill building as needed, based on your goals and challenges. Generally, I have experience working with clients on anxiety and depression; stress management; relationships; life transitions; and trauma/secondary trauma for survivors and care providers. I also have particular education and experience exploring areas of sex/sexuality, gender, coming out, faith/religion, older adults/aging well, disability/chronic illness, grief/loss, and end-of-life issues. My work is guided by Mindfulness, CBT, Somatic Experiencing, and existential and psychodynamic perspectives. I am also trained in EMDR to address trauma, depression, and anxiety. I work with my clients to identify the interventions that feel richest and most appropriate for them.
While I enjoy working with a diverse range of adolescent and adult clients, I have directly served TGNC, LGB, Kinky, Poly, and Queer individuals and communities for the last 8 years. I have also worked with individuals from Black and Latino communities for close to six years, and I speak fluent Japanese.
My office is located on the 1st floor of Beverly Therapists.
